Expressive Photography

About Me
Hello! My name is Elise and I have recently completed a Photography A-Level where I have developed insightful and experimental skills that contribute to producing visually rich and conceptually layered outcomes.
Growing up in an increasingly digital world, I’ve always been surrounded by vibrant and thought-provoking imagery that reflects - and often challenges - how we see the world. This early exposure shaped my curiosity about photography not just as a creative tool, but as a way to understand society.
Throughout my experience with A-level Photography, my work discusses two key and relatable themes: the human condition and the effects of our technological environment. Throughout both I often use distortive techniques, both physical and digital, which allows me to illustrate these concepts visually, creating work that invites the viewer to reflect and connect to on a personal level.
I am particularly interested in how photography, as a form of digital media, is often a reflection of society and can capture complex emotions and conflict - ideas that go beyond language. Moving forward, I aim to broaden my horizons by using new materials, mixed media processes, and conceptual approaches that will expand both my skills and the depth of my portfolio.
